General Weather Advisory: The next several days are forecast to bring extremely cold temperatures and the potential for disruptive winter weather

The Village of Chatham is reminding residents to prepare for several days of forecasted extreme cold and the potential for a disruptive winter storm expected to impact the area from Sunday through Monday.

Residents are urged to monitor weather forecasts, limit travel when possible, and take appropriate steps now to prepare their homes, vehicles, and families for winter weather conditions.

In accordance with Village of Chatham Code provisions related to snow emergencies, residents are reminded that:

  • Snow emergency declarations may be issued by the mayor as conditions warrant.

  • Parking restrictions and other emergency measures may be implemented to allow for safe and effective snow removal operations.

  • Failure to comply with snow emergency regulations may result in ticketing or towing to ensure public safety.

Emergency Shelter Provisions
Should conditions warrant, the Village will coordinate emergency sheltering resources for residents in need. Information regarding shelter availability will be shared promptly through official Village communication channels.

Stay Informed – TextMyGov Alerts
Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for TextMyGov, the Village’s official text alert system, to receive timely updates regarding snow emergencies, parking restrictions, and other important notices.
