Planning Board
The Village of Chatham Planning Board reviews proposed building projects to ensure that they meet the requirements set forth in the zoning law. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm, at the Tracy Memorial Village Hall.
All Planning Board Applications must be submitted at least ten days prior to the meeting of the Planning Board in order to be posted on that month’s agenda. Meetings and agendas will be announced on this website and FaceBook and are open to the public. If you need to appear before the Planning Board, contact the Code Enforcement Officer.

Open Applications
Planning Board Application #2025-124: New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG), 18 Fairview Ave., Chatham, NY 12037 (Tax Map 66.5-2-20). Special Use Permit review. NYSEG intend to expand the existing substation, and install a new fence. The expansion will allow for a new H Frame breaker structure, new transmission structure(s) and two new breakers.
Planning Board Application #2025-141: Thad Harshberger and Judith Hartford, 38 Main St., Chatham, NY 12037 (Tax Map 66.10-1-13). Historic Review for the removal of fence, landscaping, addition of blue stone patio and lattice barrier per plans for Retail space on the 1st floor only. The remainder of the building remains offices. Signage will be done with a separate application.
Planning Board Application: #N/A (subdivision): Elizabeth T. Van Alstyne, 18 Elm St., Chatham, NY 12037 (Tax Map 66.17-02-39). Subdivision / Lot Line adjustments; to create four adjustment parcels to be merged with those respective adjoining properties located at 59-61-63-65 Payne Ave.
