Online Payment Options
The Village of Chatham is implementing new online payment systems to improve convenience and expand available services. Unlike the previous system, the new systems provide consistent and predictable fee structures with multiple payment methods, including credit/debit cards and electronic check (ACH).
Utility and Miscellaneous Payments:
Credit/Debit Cards: 2.95%
eCheck (ACH): $1.95
Tax Payments:
Credit/Debit Cards: 2.95% (minimum $2.00)
eCheck (ACH): $2.00 (for payments up to $50,000, with verification)
Processing fees are charged by third-party providers and are not retained by the Village.
There is no fee for payments made by cash or check in person or by mail.
Village Property Tax Bills
This system is different from the previous online payment method, which had limited functionality and was not widely used. This system will offer additional features, including:
Property Search: Search by property address or owner name to locate tax bills
Online Bill Access: View tax bills directly online
Secure Online Payments: Select tax bill and proceed to payment via credit cards, debit cards, or electronic checks (ACH)
This updated process is designed to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate.
Please note that this tax payment system is temporary and will be used during the Village’s transition to a unified billing and payment system.
Village Water & Sewer Bills
The new utility (water/sewer) payment portal enables users to manage recurring payments, featuring secure Auto-Pay enrollment via bank account (ACH) or credit/debit card. It is designed to streamline payments, reducing manual data entry and minimizing errors. This system will offer additional features, including:
Account Management: Users can view billing history and manage their profile, including updating payment methods and downloading a bill. Users can search by account holder name, service address, or account number Account Number Tip: Your account number is printed on your utility bill or available from the Clerk's Office. When searching by account number, enter both portions of the number (for example, 000-0) in the separate fields provided.
Flexible Enrollment and Auto-Pay Feature: Users can sign up for recurring automated payments, with specific options to set up Auto-Pay through a "WIPP" (Web Inquiry & Payment Portal).
Email Notifications: The system sends email reminders one week before the scheduled payment date, listing the total amount due and the processing date, allowing for verification or cancellation.
Payment Methods: Supports automatic deductions or one-time payments via credit cards, debit cards, or electronic checks (ACH).
Permits/Fees/Miscellaneous COMING SOON!
The Village is also expanding online payment capabilities to include a variety of additional fees, such as permits and other charges.
