Chatham Police Department: New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Accredidation

The Village of Chatham is extremely proud to congratulate the Chatham Police Department on receiving official Accreditation from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. This achievement was recognized at a ceremony attended by Mayor John Howe, Deputy Mayor and Police Commissioner Pete Minahan, and members of the Village’s administrative staff.

Accreditation is a rigorous, multi-year process that requires police agencies to meet over a hundred professional standards in areas such as training, operations, and accountability. Established in 1989, the NYS Accreditation Program is one of the most comprehensive in the country and represents a commitment to excellence in community policing.

We commend Chief and the entire Chatham Police Department for their dedication, professionalism, and service to our community. This accomplishment reflects their ongoing commitment to keeping Chatham safe and to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement.

Please join us in congratulating them on this outstanding achievement!
