UPDATE & CLARIFICATION: BOIL WATER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR LIMITED AREA

The Village of Chatham would like to clarify the scope of the Boil Water Advisory issued following the water main break and repairs that occurred August 29–30, 2026.

The water main break occurred in Ghent and affected only a small portion of the Village water system. Approximately 12 water customers were affected by the repair and are currently subject to the Boil Water Advisory.

Who is affected?

The Boil Water Advisory applies ONLY to Village water customers located at 2289 State Route 66 and points south who were affected by the water main repair.

All customers who are required to boil their water were provided written notification directly by Village DPW employees.

If you did not receive written notification from the Village DPW, you are not subject to the current Boil Water Advisory and do not need to boil your water.

For affected customers

The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further notice for the customers who received written notification.

The Village will notify affected customers when the advisory has been lifted.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding and hope this clarification helps resolve any confusion regarding the scope of the advisory.
